Shalom!!

To use an old cliché; “The world is sitting on a powder keg!” Our attention is constantly being drawn to the Middle East as we hear of turmoil in that region. The threats against Israel never cease, and war seems inevitable. As we read scripture, we are reminded that the “last” of the last days will be filled with “wars and rumors of war.” That certainly seems to be true today. As confused as the world seems to be today, I often wonder how confused and totally depraved the world will become after the Church is raptured out of this cesspool of sin. Can you imagine a world devoid of Christian character and influence? Jesus reminded us that we must ‘work while it is yet day.’ I have said for many years; “No Christian ought to go to heaven in a rocking chair.” I do not see anywhere in Scripture where we are told to ‘retire’ spiritually. Instead, we are reminded to “work while it is day, for the night cometh when no man can work.” (John 9:4) The little and often overlooked book of Jude reminds us that we are to ‘contend’ for the faith. The Greek word for contend gives us the picture of a combatant; one who is battling with intensity and determination for the faith. That is a challenge for all of us. Are we contending with intensity and determination to live and work for God or are we enjoying our ‘rocking chair’? Midwest Hebrew Ministries has been ‘contending’ since 1939 to share the good news of the Gospel with Jews and Gentile alike. Lives have been touched. Lives have been changed by the proclamation of the good news that salvation is found in Yeshua (Jesus) alone! During these past 75 years, a host of friends have helped us ‘contend’ for the faith by helping to support Jewish evangelism. What has been accomplished for God thus far is history, and only eternity will reveal the fruit of our labor. Your prayers and gifts of support to this ministry are appreciated.

About Midwest Hebrew Ministry

Midwest Hebrew Ministry is an independent ministry founded in 1939 by Rev. V.L. Peterson, Mrs. Julia Solverude- Knutson and a board of directors with the goal of sharing the message with Jewish people that Yeshua is the long-awaited Messiah. They also desired to equip believers so they could witness to their Jewish friends. It is our desire to continue this mandate. Our major emphasis is placed upon proclaiming the need for personal salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, to the Jew first and also to the Gentile. (Romans 1:16).
